Biography

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Control and Computer Engineering at Politecnico di Torino. My general research focuses on theoretical and applied machine learning, ranging from traditional approaches to large language models. I work across theoretical and applied perspectives, seeking to understand the principles that make learning systems effective and reliable, while also developing methods for their responsible and practical use.

My research is currently focused on the topic of Machine Unlearning: I find that the wide-spread adoption of learning systems has made it a necessity to develop methods to control what models should or shouldn’t know. In addition, the “model editing” aspect of Unlearning is – I believe – an exciting and promising research direction for the future of machine learning.
